About
Programming is the service a museum provides to the public to help interpret their collections from the visitor’s point of view. Participants will learn how to enhance the range of opportunities museums offer to their communities. Topics covered will include audience research, customer service, planning, and evaluation.
This self-paced, module-based, combined asynchronous and synchronous course will run on the AMA’s virtual learning platform from October 5 - November 20, 2026. The course includes four required live, virtual meetings.
**The required virtual meetings will take place on October 8, 2026, October 22, 2026, November 5, 2026, and November 19, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. **
All participants are registered on a first-come, first-served basis when course registration opens. Spaces are limited, so register early!
To obtain credit for the Certificate in Museum Studies, all participants will need to register in the Program and pay all applicable fees associated with the Program application and textbook costs.
