About
Museum management relates to the daily management of the museum and defines how it works in the present and how it plans for the future.
Its effectiveness impacts all aspects of the work of the museum, both internally and externally. Participants will examine a range of activities needed to manage any museum, including planning, financial management, human resources, facilities management, public relations, marketing, risk management, and information management.
All participants are registered on a first-come, first-served basis when course registration opens. Spaces are limited, so register early!
To obtain credit for the Certificate in Museum Studies, all participants will need to register in the Program and pay all applicable fees associated with the Program application and textbook costs. The CMS Program Application is currently closed for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. For more information, please see the CMS Program Cap announcement. https://www.museums.ab.ca/what-we-do/professional-development/certificate-in-museum-studies-faq.aspx
