About

Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park (BCHP), the 2025 recipient of the Robert R. Janes Award for Social Responsibility, will host an in-person Social Responsibility Workshop, “Understanding Blackfoot Culture and History,” on Friday May 30, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants in this workshop will be welcomed to Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park for a day to share in the rich culture and history of the Blackfoot people, with opportunities to learn about the history, significance, and impact of the cultural centre on the community. The day will include sessions facilitated by Blackfoot Crossing staff and community members; a walking tour of the exhibits gallery, Blackfoot heritage sites, and historical landmarks; a hands-on arts and crafts learning experience; and opportunities for group dialogue around the future of Indigenous cultural sharing and education. Lunch and coffee breaks are included in the workshop registration.
