Get Ready for #GivingTuesday
On November 29, join non-profits
and charitable organizations across Canada for #GivingTuesday! Giving Tuesday
is an online movement that unites non-profits, civil society
organizations, businesses, families, and individuals to advocate
for their favourite organizations and causes. Using social media,
your #GivingTuesday campaign can encourage the donation of time,
resources, and talents to support your museum.
If your institution is planning on participating in
#GivingTuesday, check out their official
campaign toolkits and digital
resources for social media. These resources include information
on setting organizational goals, engaging potential donors
digitally, and planning your communications.
This campaign is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the
amazing work that you do in your community, and to connect with new
and existing donors at the start of the charitable season.
We'd love to boost your campaigns! Be sure to tag the AMA on Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, and
LinkedIn so that we can share your #GivingTuesday posts on
November 29.
This year, the AMA is participating in Giving Tuesday to raise
awareness and support for the
Robert R. Janes Award for Social Responsibility, an annual
award that recognizes, supports, and furthers the work of museums
that are taking action to support and promote the social, cultural,
and environmental health and well-being of their communities. This
year the AMA is celebrating 10 years of the Janes Award, and we
need your help to fund the Award for another 10 years.
The Award is made possible through an ongoing donation from Dr.
Janes and relies on matching community funding to continue directly
supporting museums that are true contributors to the social,
cultural, and environmental fabric of Alberta.
Recipients of the Robert R. Janes Award for Social
Responsibility receive $3,000 to investigate their drivers for
success, scale up their activities, and host a workshop designed to
model their lessons and successes for other institutions.
Please consider supporting the AMA through a
donation the Robert R. Janes Award for Social Responsibility.
By getting involved, you are recognizing, supporting, and
furthering the inspiring work of Alberta's museum community.
