Fall Gathering 2023
Thank you!
The Alberta Museums Association wishes to extend our thanks to
all presenters, volunteers, guests, and award recipients for making
the 2023 Fall Gathering such a success! We would also like to thank
our Hosting Partner, Heritage Park Historical Village, and all our
sponsors for making this event possible through their generous
support. We want to extend a special thank you to Indigenous
Tourism Alberta for curating the entertainment, Kehewin Native
Dance Theatre, for the evening!

The Fall Gathering included our Annual General Meeting; the
presentation of a new Strategic Plan; a keynote presentation from
Emlyn Koster, Director Emeritus, Royal Tyrrell Museum of
Palaeontology; and an evening Awards Gala.
The keynote presentation, Consequential
Relevance, outlined a way forward for the museum sector amidst
changing priorities in an unstable world. Emlyn seeks to inspire
reflection on mission-critical matters with bold rethinking about
traditional ways and means.
The Fall Gathering also included the presentation of the AMA's
new Strategic
Plan. The plan was developed in consultation with our staff,
board, members, and community supporters, and will guide the work
of the Association through 2026.
Thank you for joining us to reconnect, explore, and celebrate
the work of the amazing sector we support!
