The AMA Grants Program provides funds to qualifying Individual
and Institutional Members through the financial support of the
Members must be in good standing by the grant deadline to be
eligible for funding. As all new members must be ratified by the
AMA Board of Directors, a process that takes a month, please apply for
membership with adequate time to ensure you are a full member
and eligible for grant application before the appropriate
Grants Program Changes for 2020 - 2021
In response to reductions to our funding allocation, the
AMA will be making changes to several of its programs and services
for the 2020 - 2021 fiscal year, including the Grants
Program. Please read our
Membership Advisory for details.
For the 2020 - 2021 granting year, the following changes have been
made to the Grant Runs:
- The September 2020 Grant Run has been
- The November 2020 Grant Run for Operational Staffing
Grants will proceed as normal.
- The February 2021 Grant Run will be reduced to accept
applications for Professional Development Grants only.
The 2020 - 2021 Grant Season will open in October
2020 - 2021 Grants Program Categories:
The Operational Staffing Grant provides funding to eligible
Institutional Members to build capacity by contributing to the
wages of core museum staff.
The Professional Development Grant provides funding to eligible
Individual and Institutional Members as they undertake professional
and personal learning opportunities to increase the overall body of
knowledge of the Alberta museum community.
