Grants Program

The AMA Grants Program provides funds to qualifying Individual and Institutional Members through the financial support of the Alberta Government.

Members must be in good standing by the grant deadline to be eligible for funding. As all new members must be ratified by the AMA Board of Directors, a process that takes a month, please apply for membership with adequate time to ensure you are a full member and eligible for grant application before the appropriate deadline.

Grants Program for 2024 - 2025

In the 2024 - 2025 granting year, the AMA will offer three grant categories over two intake periods.

For the 2024 - 2025 granting year, the revised Grant Run deadlines are as follows:

Grant Category Application Deadline
Operational Staffing October 1, 2024
Professional Development February 3, 2025
Institutional February 3, 2025

The AMA recently increased its Subsistence and Travel Allowance Rates for Board, volunteer, and staff travel to account for increasing costs. This increase is in recognition of the impact of inflation on the museum sector. The new subsistence and travel allowance rates are in effect for applications to the Grants Program in the 2024 - 2025 granting year.
